Psalm 146:5-6 "Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is the LORD his God, the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them---the LORD who remains faithful forever." (NIV)
God is both our help and our hope. Help is a present quality---day to day sustaining, provision, protection, guidance, an everlasting presence in all things at all times.
Hope is a future quality---knowledge of salvation and everlasting life to come, assurance and expectation based on God's love and faithfulness.
This God of both our present help and future hope is faithful forever. He "remains" these things forever. They are part of who he is. Our God of help and hope! The LORD of all creation! No wonder we are blessed! Thank you, LORD!
